Products arriving at EU and UK borders without adequate REACH and RoHS documentation face seizure by market surveillance authorities and forced withdrawal from sale. REACH (Regulation 1907/2006) governs chemical substance registration, Safety Data Sheets, and Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) declarations across 23,000+ registered substances. RoHS (Directive 2011/65/EU) restricts ten specific hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Together, these regulations touch virtually every physical product placed on European markets — from electronic devices and automotive components to textiles, toys, and packaging materials.

The operational bottleneck is downstream communication. Your finished product's REACH compliance depends on substance declarations from every material and component supplier in your bill of materials. A single missing SVHC declaration for one subcomponent can render your entire product non-compliant.
