General
What is Sustalium?
Sustalium is a platform that helps businesses create, manage, and publish digital business certificates — including Digital Product Passports (DPPs), compliance declarations, and sustainability credentials — all from one dashboard.
What types of certificates can I create?
You can create a wide range of certificates including Digital Product Passports (DPP), EU Declarations of Conformity, REACH and RoHS compliance statements, ISO-based sustainability declarations, ESG disclosures, and custom certificates tailored to your industry.
Who is Sustalium for?
Sustalium is designed for product manufacturers, importers, brand owners, compliance managers, and sustainability teams who need to create and manage regulatory certificates at scale. It serves businesses of all sizes, from startups to enterprises.
Do I need technical expertise to use Sustalium?
No. Sustalium is designed for non-technical users. The guided workflow walks you through each step — from uploading product data to publishing a verified certificate. If you can use a spreadsheet, you can use Sustalium.
Product
How quickly can we publish our first certificate?
Most teams can publish a first certificate in under 30 minutes once product evidence is ready. The guided onboarding flow helps you set up your workspace, import products, and generate your first certificate step by step.
What file formats does the CSV import support?
The import tool accepts standard CSV and Excel (.xlsx) files. You can map your columns to Sustalium fields during import, so there is no need to reformat your existing product data before uploading.
Can I customize the look of my certificates?
Yes. You can add your company logo, select brand colours, choose from multiple certificate templates, and configure which data fields appear on the public certificate page. Enterprise plans include fully white-labelled certificates.
How do QR codes work?
Every published certificate gets a unique QR code that links to its public verification page. You can download QR codes in SVG or PNG format for packaging, labels, and marketing materials. Scanning the code lets anyone verify the certificate instantly.
Can I update a certificate after publishing?
Yes. You can update certificate data at any time. The public verification page always reflects the latest version, and previous versions are kept in the audit trail for traceability.
How many products can I manage?
There is no hard limit on the number of products in your workspace. Pricing is based on published certificates, not products, so you can import and manage your full catalogue regardless of plan.
Pricing
How does pricing work?
Pricing is certificate-based with pay-as-you-go and bundle options. You only pay for the certificates you publish — there are no charges for draft or unpublished certificates. For current plan details, visit the pricing page.
What counts as one certificate?
One certificate is a single published compliance or sustainability document linked to one product or product line. Updating an existing certificate does not count as a new certificate.
Are there monthly fees or subscriptions?
Sustalium offers both pay-as-you-go credit packs and monthly subscription plans. Pay-as-you-go credits never expire, while subscriptions include a monthly certificate allowance plus access to advanced features.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. New accounts include a set of free credits so you can create and publish your first certificates at no cost. No credit card is required to get started.
Can I switch plans?
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time from your account settings. When upgrading, the new features are available immediately. Unused credits from pay-as-you-go packs carry over.
Compliance
Which markets and regulations are supported?
Sustalium supports global certificate templates and market-relevant declarations, including EU, UK, US, and other major trade regions. Templates are regularly updated to reflect changes in regulatory frameworks such as ESPR, REACH, RoHS, and CBAM.
Is Sustalium compliant with EU ESPR requirements?
Sustalium is built to support the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) requirements, including Digital Product Passport data fields. As the regulation evolves, Sustalium updates its templates and data models to maintain compliance.
How often is the regulation database updated?
The regulation database is reviewed and updated continuously. Major regulatory changes — such as new EU delegated acts or updated ISO standards — are typically reflected within days of official publication.
Can I use Sustalium for Digital Product Passports (DPP)?
Yes. Sustalium is purpose-built for Digital Product Passports. It generates DPP-ready data structures, QR-linked public verification pages, and machine-readable outputs that align with EU ESPR requirements and GS1 standards.
Security & Privacy
Where is my data stored?
All data is stored in EU-based data centres operated by certified cloud providers. Data residency is maintained within the European Economic Area (EEA) to comply with EU data protection regulations.
Is Sustalium GDPR compliant?
Yes. Sustalium is fully GDPR compliant. We process only the personal data necessary to operate the service, provide a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) on request, and support data subject rights including access, rectification, and deletion.
How is my data protected?
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Access is controlled through role-based permissions, and all actions are logged in an immutable audit trail. We conduct regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.
Support
How can we contact support or sales?
You can contact the team through the contact page, by emailing support directly, or by joining the waitlist form and including your inquiry details. We aim to respond within one business day.
Do you offer onboarding assistance?
Yes. All plans include access to our self-service knowledge base and onboarding guides. Paid plans include dedicated onboarding sessions where our team helps you set up your workspace, import products, and publish your first certificates.
